niice truck. i need to get some powerstrokes. i have a question for you, looks like you have the revo spec driveshafts in the rear, do you have any issue with the powerstrokes rubbing on them? i get pretty good air with my maxx, and i want more but the skids slam down so hard you can feel the ground shake every time she lands.

Yup powerstrokes rub on them. That's why I no longer have the powerstrokes. Well one of the reasons. I liked them a lot and they did well on the tame track but they are getting harder and harder to find parts for and finding different springs to aid in tuning was getting troublesome.
I sold them and I'm trying out some 1/8th truggy shocks right now. Seem promising so far. I think I'm going to pick up a set of losi 8ight front buggy shocks though. Those things are nice and beefy. Same length as a maxx shock too

i'm curious what 1/8th scale shocks will do. im definitely not about handling with my emaxx, im just sick of the violent bottoming out that occurs off all the jumps. the way they talk about the valving in the powerstrokes it sounds like that would be my ticket, plus i've been wanting the traxxas cvd kit anyways.

You have big bores, quit being lazy and set them up better for what your doing. Sheesh have you ever changed shock oil?

Yeah, it's not the big bores that are the problem. I have those rcraven dual rate springs on all 8 of the shocks and they still let the truck bottom severely. i run 60wt in all 8 shocks as well. i even tried to make limiters with fuel tubing and it works great on the bench, but after a few big landings it deforms/tears the fuel tubing! i just want a spring that is super soft for the first 75% of travel, then so hard that the last 25% won't let the truck bottom all the way.

You're not going to get away from bottoming out. You can reduce it but you won't stop it. Every truck does it. The losi 8ight front shocks are supposed to be great. I can't say from experience yet. Here is my truck setup with the shocks off a RTR hot bodies lightning. I think they are around 15mm to long but should be enough to let me see how I can do on the setup. i don't plan on keeping these on there. Just something I had around so I can get some single shock testing in. It does look promising on the bench but we know how that goes! 40wt with firms in the rear 35wt and mediums up front
