Yes, it appears that the new Slashes will have the Slayer bodies and wheels and tires. I guess it saves Traxxas money by using the same parts on multiple trucks.

Yeah I noticed similar postings on a bunch of different forums, and saw it being argued rather endlessly on traxxas' own db. Some people hate 'em, some don't care, and some suggest that anything that holds down costs and increases availability is better for us end-users.
But I guess it'll just fuel people going to quality aftermarket beadlock rims and alternate tire choices. As long as we keep it fun and gives us something else to tinker with I think it's all good.

Yeah but what sucks is now when companies offer tires, they will be that goofy size. So people who have say the CAC beadlocks are screwed

SC8 has the same type set up on their wheels. As softer more compliant compounds of tires come out for these...the more the offset will help keep the tire from folding under when cornering. That way you still get the scale look with low profile cornering prformance.

The tires aren't any different, just the wheels. The inside of the Slayer wheels are different in order to give clearance for the pillow-ball suspension on the Revo chassis.

Are the different size with the smaller inside tire wall making a difference when cornering ? That is what matters, it doesnt really matter to me just the performance of the tires now. Anyone see a difference yet ?

geez really big difference in them, not even close. Now I wish I never sold off the set from the parts rig I did. At least I know RC4WD's crushers on 1.9 wheels work decent around here.

The Slayer tire/wheels seem to work better on high bite surfaces,no roll-over. They hook up really well on my track, really nice watered clay. We were trying to get the Slashes to spin out on the corners & couldn't do it.The ORIGINAL Slash combo the tires would roll-over a little but still hooked up pretty well. Last Sat. I had a Slash finish 3rd in Gas truck! He was just 4 seconds off of their lap times. His 49-51 average to their 44-47 lap times. Not bad!! So I quess it's just up to the conditions you run in to see a difference.
