Just wondering in general, who here races r/c's? Can be any class, at the LHS level or above. (racing with an entry fee) I am not counting racing your buddy down the road For those who race? What class or classes do you race? How much do they charge for entry fee? Whats some pro's/con's about where you race? For those who don't race, just wondering how come? Not interested? No where to race? Bad experience? I want to hear all good and bad. I am going to open a full time track in the next few months, and I want some input from you guys to make it the best it can be!

Man I wish I had time to race... Not having a set of 1:1 wheels really puts a damper on things lol.
I was talking to a guy in the LHS the other day though and he told me he was trying to get a Slash class going on Friday nights! Hopefully I can get down there for a couple of those...

I bought my Slash so i could get into racing. i figure its both good for a basher and then take it to the track and tear up a couple laps. Unfortunately, i picked the wrong location to get back in RC and thats while I'm here in Korea. The nearest places to race are quite a bit away and i doubt theyd even have a slash class, but i could probably hold my own agains some other electrics if they were there...

i race as much as I can afford to with gas prices what they are. Usually $8 on Wed. nite covers entry fee. This weekend we had the Hobby Haven Labor Day Shootout and that cost $15 bucks for the Slash class but there was door prizes, trophies, shirts, and a pit towel. I finished last in the B-main, yea there was alot of Slashes. But I walked away with a cool prize a UpgradeRC pit mat.

I wish I could race, but not having a car to go to the track, not too mention there isn't a slash class at the track either, however they do charge like $5 per class that you enter some guys enter all 6 classes and end up paying $30 in entry fees, however there are prizes and what not as well as you don't have to bring your own transponder

I used to race, way back when pan cars were the thing. Closest place to me is Ray's Hobbies and Ray is a (male private part) so I don't go there, as well as a bunch of other guys. Ray puts all his efforts into classes where $$$ matters buying the latest parts made of unobtainium. He's also rude to budget racers and newbies. How can he ever expect to grow a hobby?

i race at circuitjc if you google it make sure to hit the translate button. its $25 for the first race of the season, then $20 each race and $5 per truck, i race my Efirestorm in 2wd mod truck in the C or D main depending on how many drivers show up and i started 4wd buggy last season with my hotbodies D4, C or D main if theres a corr class i might drop my buggy the tracks a plastic greenhouse out in a farmers feild, heated and has the essentials ( snackbar and electricity, oh and portoletts )lol we race from sep/oct to mar/april depending how bad the snow gets lol it a good track, a little small but has lots of technicals with a 90' straight away

I race every week, 1/8 scale buggy, sometimes truggy, I am lucky to have about 8 tracks within 2 hrs from here! 15.00 is the norm to race out here, unless its an event, those fee's range from 50.00 to 80.00 depending on where and what they are for..

None of those apply to me, right now I race bi-weekly. But we had a makup race on Sunday from the following week being rained out. And have another one this Sunday which is scheduled. I think one of the reasons for a makeup as it was a point series race.
Costs are 10 for the first one and 5 after that. And you have to have your own personal transponder they have 5 club ones and you get to use it free the first 2 times and 5 after that. Not sure how well that is enforced as I only used theirs once before I picked one up. Closer would be nicer but they guys there have been great and helpful as I was just sort of a basher but not really bashed either just ran it around the yard or road no major jumps and would take it camping and to the beach to have some fun. And all Nitro at that time. Other stuff I'll let you know Rob when we get together tomorrow.
