they aren't, and it's not a good idea (really) to run any electric vehicle through water --- as a rountine thing, as they have all sorts of easily rustable partsI know they advertise the Slash's stock ESC as waterproof, but they're really just "water resistant" - which, while it gives you some "limited protection," means its still not the end all of no worries operation

yah well im just trying to help you all out, btw your truck as your default is very niiiiccccceee! yeah, and I was just helping you out by helping you understand that there's a big difference between "water resistent" (which under any other circumstances is what 3-feet is) and "waterproof"...... and that considering there are no way to seal a motorshaft suggesting otherwise is kinda pointless - as well as the whole idea of highly rustable parts. I can't take credit for the paintjob in my avatar, but it is cool alright (one of mine is a bit different than that, and the other is a whole lot different than that)

mine has been in wet grass, and has been splashed through a puddle but nothing I'd consider a soaking. So is it as vulnerable as the original e-maxx ESC, no I doubt that. But I still wouldn't drive in rain or dunk it. I try to stay clear of the wet stuff for the most part. Like mentioned water is the enemy of electronics. And even brushed motors are ruined by water. This is my layout, just like if traxxas had installed it. Hopefully center mounted will help keep the ESC clear of splash or droplets.

to the "theDr" no i im just sayin your right by the "water resistant" quote, like he said its never good to run any rc car in water unless you do what i do with my slash i rinse it off with a house hold cleaner such as "fantastik" or "perfect" and go blow everything off with my aircompressor then i WD-40 the whole thing blow it off thuroghly with the aircompressor then take tri-flow and go around all the bushings and bearings and joints and pivits, by the way it makes your plastic parts look new in bow new

thank you but for it to look "new in box kind new" you have to blow off access wd-40 really good that way its not to goo-ey and in like in a hour or 2 rest of access wd-40 evaporates or absorbs in to plastic looks beutiful!!!
