Yes, every time I take it out and bring it back from the track I tighten hinge pins, wheel nuts, axle carrier screws, etc, lol. Time to start using thread locker.

Hey guys i was woundering if your parts come loose like nuts 2 the wheels and the A-Arm Bolt stuff like that Cuz mine doo This is kind of a rhetorical question - as it seems that some people that get RC cars and trucks somehow "think" things shouldn't come loose or need regular cleaning or something, but this ain't your Mom's Honda your driving or the little piece of crap rc car your parents got you when you were 8 that you ran til it died or spontaneously combusted. Part of the thing is that hobby-grade/race grade RC cars and trucks ALL need routine - as in each time you get done running it - maintenance. And that includes everything from unplugging and removing the battery, checking that a stone or dirt hasn't worked its way under the gearcover, etc., etc., etc. all the way up to and including checking that all the screws are still tight and nothing is coming loose. Knocking off the big hunks of dirt doesn't count...............

totally agree with rocketrob on this one. its a bit fun for me to take the time after im fully done running to check and see if theres anything loose. its bound to happen. the trucks arent indestructible. when youre jumping it or driving over rough terrain, parts and screws are bound to come a bit loose or even fall off. the defense tho is to just take the extra minute or two to give the truck a once over, take your hex wrench to some of the bigger structural areas (suspension, bulkheads) and just give it a little tightening if it needs it. it will increase your run time and probaly the life of your parts.

I knew that i was just woundering if it happends to any one else because people say they are "Industructable" and i take care of my cars and i enjoy tightening bolts and fixing R/C cars especially the slash. Very good peice of art there my friend =P

And they make this stuff called "Loctite" that I bet would keep your wheelnuts from falling off so easily - something that should be in every RCer's toolbox.

sheesh!... iaredevin simply asked if a couple things come loose and gets a friggin lecture about maintenance... Asking if something comes loose is hardly suggesting neglect. It's not neglect when you tighten down the hingpin and it's loose at the end of a battery. Mine work their way out too.. I'm thinking about using standard style pins and e-clips.. or set screws...

There's an easy fix to the rear hinge pins coming loose. Its only 1 side that always seems to work loose, both at the trans and the hub carrier. Pull them out, and install them from the other side. After I have done that, I have never had one back out again. now when the suspension works, it tightens the pins instead of working them loose. Trick though is to only turn around the pins your having issues with or else the other ones will start backing out if you flip those around. (Found that out the hard way)

(Found that out the hard way) Also wheel nuts are an issue too. I use a blue locktite on those. Also, when using the 4 way wrench, I like to insert a screwdriver into one of the side lugs to allow me to have some extra leverage to get the nut a little tighter. I know 4 people (myself included) that had a back tire fall off the truck on the first pack.

He is just the type of person that doesn't sugar coat everything and tells it how it is. Nothing wrong with that. Ok back on topic...
