Thanks I've never heard of that brand before, but I'm really curious why you'd spend $80 on a charger and not get a better known brand? balancers are only used on LiPOs, not NiMH batteries there are a lot of relatively cheap balancers on the market, but you not only might want to make sure they're compatible with the onyx - so you need to ask the manufacturer - and you might ask wherever your getting the charger.

This is the least expensive balancer I've found. It's called the Astro Blinky. www.airthunder.com/astroblinkybatterybalancer.aspxThe description says that any battery over 1500mah will take a long time to balance, and that is true. My 4500mah lipo takes about 1.5 hours to completely balance, but I just plug it into the balancer in the evening and let it go anyway so it isn't really a big deal. For $25, I'm willing to wait a bit longer for the battery to balance.

thank man. ps whats wrong with druatrash? Eh, just bustin' balls man, lol. I've never heard anything bad about their chargers, just their vehicles. I'm running their shocks on both of my Slashes with no problems.

thank man. ps whats wrong with druatrash? yeah, like chadrob said - there's nothing wrong with duratrax, they make some fine stuff, actually one of the best chargers on the market (the ICE) is made by them. and their cars aren't that bad either. funny thing is they also used to make, some still do, the same kind of jokes about traxxas products

The duratrax 230 is a great charger. I personnally know two people who have been using them for over a year flawllessly. I have purchased one also& have been more than satisfied with it's performance; 10 memory presets, ac/dc,and a five year warrenty.

And to answer the original post, check out the Equinox inline balancer, plugs right in to the 230 and will balance as you charge. look it up on tower hobbies website.

I have been more then happy with my "Duratrash" 230 Good. As posted above their chargers are fine, but I haven't heard too many good things about their trucks.
