My rc10 t4 has an issue. First, it has a Castle Sidewinder speed controller and a 57ookv brushless, running 7 cell 4500mah bats. When I take off from a start it does a start/stop/start thing until it gets out about 15 feet or so. The speed is also inconsistent. Sometimes it wheelies over onto its roof, and the next time it just goes out smooth, but not as fast. I have checked all the connections I can.
Any ideas? Could it be a reciever issue?

Have you reset the ESC and looked at all your settings ?
It could be an RX issue or an issue with the ESC itself. If you figure out its not an RX problem, call Castle Creations. They have excellent customer support and Im sure they will help you figure out your problem.

if you're running a spektrum rx, get a capacitor that plugs into the aux port on the rx and you're good to go. I had the exact same problem in the past. My Sidewinder's BEC didn't keep enough juice going to the rx so the rx just dumped whenever it felt like.

Are those capacitors something that is easily available or a custom deal?

What gearing are you running in the T4?
I've heard about the voltage drop to the receiver too but have never experienced with any of the sidewinders I have.

Are those capacitors something that is easily available or a custom deal? you just buy it, plug it in, and go I don't think the issue I described is what you're experiencing though...especially if you're running stock radio gear. Now that I know you don't have a spektrum receiver, my guess would be that your battery or gearing is causing the system to cog. I couldn't get my 5700 to not cog without going lipo.
