OK, if you haven't seen any of my other posts here it is in a nutshell. I cleaned out the diffs on my VXL Bandit and Mamba Slash and packed them with common Silly Putty. Now for the bashing update: The Bandit ended up being scavenged for spare parts for my Slash and my buddies new Pede due to a "slight" navigational error that resulted in some broken camber blocks on both The putty diff allowed some great wheelies with the Swami bar. None of the wobble that you see with a regular diff, but it is definitely harder on the drivetrain. You will also notice alot of understeer. The Slash handled alot better on blue groove conditions, but on loose/sandy conditions I had alot of sliding. It came out of the corners muc faster, no more one wheel peel. After two 3s packs I noticed the diff was starting to loosen up a bit. After the diff heated up the putty scooshed(technical term) out some. In conclusion, The silly putty is a very cheap way to help stiffen up the diff without too much wear on the drivetrain. Hope this was somewhat helpful/informative.
