Has anyone tried an HPI "D-Box" on a Slash? I personally know nothing about the "D-Box" or how it works but if it controls drift it might be kinda fun. ;D

sounds like its a gyro you could just buy a gyro and fit it to the slash
if the car were to turn without the servo being moved the gyro would automaticaly adjust the steering to correct it and move it to where it was facing before so basicaly it will stop you spinning out as often

It sounds kinda fun if you turn the gain down where the rear end still breaks loose to a certian degree. ;D Is a D-Box just a gyro? Like a heading lock gyro on a heli?

The D-Box is a gyro used on the drifters. Never thought of using one on the Slash, could be cool.

some guys at our track tried it in a 4wd buggy some didn't like it, and some didn't notice any change. it corrects you when you over steer, they found out later that the constant bumps of an offroad track mess it up and they were told it should only be used onroad

I saw one on the Slash tonight. It looks freakin' cool. The ass end just kind of slides out and then comes right back in, totally controlled drift. The guy came in second and said he loves it on the groomed track. It probably would suck on a dry and dusty track though...

I was talking to one of my buds in Cali and he said it works even better on a non-groomed dusty track, where you have your ass end hanging out all the time, as the unit was designed for drifter newbies and automatically countersteers the truck for you whenever it wants to swap ends.
