i know this is in the wrong section but i figure that most people look at this thread. I got a Losi Desert Truck off of craigslist about 3 months ago for electronics it has stock esc, stock steering servo, Novak XXL receiver and a older Futaba remote, but when you plug the battery in and turn it on and everything NOTHING happens when you give it gas or steer. The only thing that happens is when you touch the metal of the remote antenna to the receiver antenna the gas goes full bore until you untouch the two antennas. PLEASE help me, and i can't really afford to buy new electronics

first i would change crystals in the remote or receiver.if that doesn't work. if you have another RC put that TX/Rx in it to see if that works. could be something wrong with your TX/Rx. i would start with that first

i did that i have even plugged all of my stuff into my cousins desert truck, and nothing...the kid i got it from put his friends vxl in it for a drive, and he said it went out of control and hit a garbage can???

did you just change the Rx/TX.or everything sounds like to me its a TX/Rx signal problem.what about changing the esc theres something messing with the signal. is the antenna touching anything mental or the esc?if that the case it will glitch.i think you need a new remote and receiver.

what about the steering and throttle trim is it set to zero?

what is the rx/tx? trim is at zero i have put the crystal to my slash in the receiver and tryed using the slash remote but that didnt work, and i have tryed hooking my vxl up to it and it doesn't work either???

the rx/tx is right...is there any chance the steering servo can cause it?

did you check the antenna connection to the circuit board on the receiver? that could be causing the problem.

how do you take the receiver apart? or is there somebody that has a traxxas system for dirt cheap...maybe even free  (radio/receiver) |

Definatley sounds like you need a new rx / tx setup, that one is obviously malfunctioning.
Look on ebay or something, you can find used TQ systems cheap.

An rx is the reciever and a tx is the transmitter.
