7 cell packs are where it's at. They really wake the Slash up.

Yep my slash is awake now,and im doing fine running times with it,on-raod 25-30 mins and off-road 20mins,im afraid of killing my motor now LOL hehehe ;D

If I got a 7 cell 5000mah battery woiuld it be ok with all the stock electronics or would I half to get a vxl system or brushless?

What about gearing? Stock gearing handle it? It's been my experience, to take the strain off the motor and to keep temps running at an acceptable/normal level, to always drop 2 teeth for every increase in cells - and then test. Otherwise it's too easy to burn up a motor because it gets too hot from the increased voltage (8.4v vs. 7.2v) running to it.
