7 cell packs are where it's at. They really wake the Slash up.

Yep my slash is awake now,and im doing fine running times with it,on-raod 25-30 mins and off-road 20mins,im afraid of killing my motor now LOL hehehe ;D

If I got a 7 cell 5000mah battery woiuld it be ok with all the stock electronics or would I half to get a vxl system or brushless?

7 cells is fine on a stock ESC, No problems there.

What about gearing? Stock gearing handle it? It's been my experience, to take the strain off the motor and to keep temps running at an acceptable/normal level, to always drop 2 teeth for every increase in cells - and then test. Otherwise it's too easy to burn up a motor because it gets too hot from the increased voltage (8.4v vs. 7.2v) running to it. |
