I'm going to be getting my Mamba Max 4600KV Combo within couple days and the battery that I'm going to be using is a 4000mAH 3S2P 25C Lipo battery.
I have no idea how to gear my Slash right now, I don't want to burn up my motor.
According to Castle Creation's gearing chart, it says to use a pinion of 14T-19T and the largest spur available..
Anybody has a 4600KV in their Slash, what gearing are you running?

i was using an 18 pinion in mine but i was told by a few others who run cc 4600 to try a 17 to keep the temps down. i'm gonna try it at the next race

on 3S you are going to want to gear as low as possible...... so 90 tooth spur, and smallest pinion you can fit... if you have a temp gun, you really don't want to see temps above 160F... the Slash is a challenge to gear as it's heavy, has a lot of wind resistance, and is geared slightly tall internally...

just use a 2c battery.you will be doing 40+ which is plenty fast for a slash, better get a wheelie bar if you go 3c,but really dont suggest going 3c,it will be more pain than pleasure.the slash body acts like an air foil at high speeds, better have tires balanced real good.the slash is very durable, but drivetrain and bearings will get trashed quick with that much power,if you want to go fast, get a cyclone and stick the mamba in it,oh man!power, handleing and you wont flip
