Sat. is the first race at my track for the RC sign up National Slash Champion. see rcsignup.com for details. I started taking my slash apart yesterday to clean it up and go thru it. the first thing I noticed was the hinge pin are not free at all. I read some where to drill them out some, did, love it. I even did the front hubs the same way. The front end is clean and super free. I even chucked up the hinge pins and used rubbing compound to give em a nice shine. front end done. I started cleaning doing the same thing to the rear end today. Gotta finish it at work tommorrow. I brought it inside the house instead of woeking on it in the trailer (rolling dog house) Mistake, tv in front of me. I went to hobby clown to get some 50wt oil for the shocks, this is my plan for the shocks, as far as suspension goes I plan on taking all the shocks as far out on the arms as they can go. My plan is to stiffen it up some to get rid of the body roll. Our track is big, dusty when not blown, and grooves up good when it is blown, tires will not be an issue. I also balanced 2 of the 4 tires, the 2 i did were B A D. That is gonna make a big differance. I will update on sat or sun with how it worked. I did notice after i took of the shock tower that there is another positon for the turnbuckle, i kinda want to try that, and today i noticed that the rear hubs have another option, may try that too. suggestions? coments, good or bad with triying anything i am going to try?

sounds good. You can use a strip of duct tape to cover up the clay to keep dirt or pebbles from sticking to it and throwing off the balance again if clay is what you used and it may help to keep it there.

I have used modeling clay before on my gas truck and letric truck. even after washing them with simple green and rinsing off with a hose, it still stuck good. suprisingly the dirt does not stick to the clay that much

I finished the truck today at work. just alone balancing of the tire made me 2 seconds faster. I did end up using the upper holes on the rear hubs. It sits alot lower. I had to take out the shock clips that come stock with the truck, now the bones are level. the front end is a little higher than i like, but i gotta try it.... is it saturday yet?

I ran the setup yesterday, and man was it nice. No body roll at all. the track was a little dry with a little coating of dust. no push, no spin outs, almost stuck like glue. The only problam i had was the motor I got was a slug, bkoke it in for 30 min., then water dipped it for 6 min, I was hoping a little weight from the truck would break then in better, nothing. felt like it was getting slower every lap. I qual'ed 2nd, and won the main. the guy that tq'ed got into trouble at the start, he ran me down by the 2nd lap, but his truck cut off some how. i kept the lead and went on to win
