just currious where do you guys position the battery in your slash towards the front or back and does this matter for the handling whether racing on the street or dirt. Also i'm running a reedy 5000 mah 2s lipo, everything else is stock, should i add weight to the truck to equal the weight of a nimh battery or would i be better off leaving it lighter and if i did leave it lighter would i still need to use thicker than stock shock fluid.

I run my batteries to the rear to help with traction. You can also hide weight under the ESC securely for the same purpose.

I would bump up the shock fluid too .Get Losi 40-45 wt.Good stuff.Dont put weight in front.Just use throttle conrlol when jumping.Hold the throttle to stay level, and brake to get the nose to dive into the landing when jumping.

so the slash does benefit with a little weight a nimh battery has compared to a lipo? From the time i recieved my slash i did change the fluid to associated 45 weight oil all for corners.

Yes,for the most part, depends on driving style, but I actually turn faster laps with my nickel vs lipo, slower is faster! At least when you stay upright vs on your lid going too fast. When Im bashing with the VXL sytem, definitely LIPO.Max Amps baterries rule!

I run the battery back for a little more rear grip. Mine has only seen lipos, never even stuck a NIMH in it. This truck is heavey enough without adding weight if running a titan. If I were to go brushless, if I added weight it would be limited at best and placed in spots to aid handling, not make up weight from a different battery.
