I wanted to add a stiffer shock tower to the front of my Slash without adding a lot of extra weight. Found this tower at the LHS and had to give it a shot. Sorry for the poor pictures, the lighting in the shop and my camera both are not that good. (They don't like to be dropped on concrete for some reason...) Anyways, here is the tower: As you can see, it includes the shock tower, a hardware package, and instructions for installing it. Once you get the original one off, you will see that you get to replace this... With this... The only mod that needs to be made is to clearance the 2 outside ribs on the nose of the chassis to clear the x brace on the shock tower. I did this with the dremel and a grinding stone. Be careful, as the plastic gets hot. Then just clean up with a hobby knife. You want the finished product to look like this: (Again, sorry for the bad pictures) All the hardware that held on the stock tower and front camber links will be re-used. You will need to add 3mm nuts to the camber link bolts. Make sure to put a drop of locktite on these, as the bolts aren't long enough to reach the nylock portion if you use a lock nut. Then use the included hardware with the shock tower to mount the shocks. You will not need the small aluminum spacers. This is what you will end up with: And there you have it, a stronger and lighter front shock tower for just a little extra work. ;D

seems like a lot of work for a part that should just bolt right where the previous one was.

seems like a lot of work for a part that should just bolt right where the previous one was. Traxxas does not advertise this product to fit the Slash, its for a different model. Thats why I had to clearance the chassis to use it. And yep, its nice and stiff unlike the stock wet noodle shock tower.

So, performance update?
I have a $50.00 Tower Gift Card burning a hole in my pocket!

Truthfully, probably is adding more looks then performance. Can't tell much of a difference, but I did change a few other things with the setup when I installed the shock tower. It does add 1 other shock mount option and 1 other camber link tuning option though.
