Bought a Slash a few weeks ago SWEEEET. But my motor shit the bed LHS gave me a motor from An old Emaxx . Titan 550 23t. Stock Slash motor is a Titan 550 12t Was wondering if this motor will work with the slashs XL5 waterproof speed control ( My buddy let the magic smoke out of his already ) I don't want to suffer from the same problem. Electric gurus please help since i am very new to electric motors

the emaxx motor has a lot more torque so it might strip some gears if you are not careful.

the gearbox is designed to take brushless I doubt a 23T motor will cause carnage to the metal gear tranny

I would think it would work fine. If the gearbox can handle brushless that 23 turn won't hurt it. Guys have ran 27 turns in the Rustlers for years before the transmission was upgraded with no problems.
Sweet body by the way. Those colors and that layout looks good on the Desert Rat.

It will work just fine. But it will probably be slow as can be. The E-maxx runs on 14.4+ volts where as the Slash only runs on 7.2V.

I'd go for a trinity 21 or 19 T cobal motor. About $30, and you should be happy!

Slash can run stock on 8.4 Volts Old emaxx runs in paralel i think Two batteries , two motors Dual 7.2 volt packs, hence the 14.4 volts. New Emaxx runs on dual 7 cell packs. 16.8 Volts. I think i know what im talking about . but I'm still pretty green to electric. But I know a savage inside out

The Slash can actually run on 8 cells, up to 9.6v, but you're pushing it by doing that. 7 cells at 8.4 is plenty.

All I am saying is that the lower voltage means the motor will run slower. That's all.
