i was about to buy the SC8, actually pre ordered one but i just got the price for it and it's a turn off. i wasn't expecting this... for 300$ less i can get a slayer and i also just read the review in the r/c driver magazine and wow, the slayer seems to be an awesome machine! I'm not planing to officially race the truck, i will mostly run it on a race track but just for fun, i only race with my 1/8 buggies. let me know what you would do

I can't offer any real world advice as I've never seen either of them run, but I did see two SC8's this weekend, and man they are sweet. I'd go with the SC8, just because, lol.

i felt the same as you....i was all sc8, but i really think i would go slayer. actually that is what i am going to do...for the money saved i can replace a lot of parts or buy nitro or upgrage radio gear. plus, more and more parts are interchangable with the slash and slayer as more generations are produced. they are both sweet trucks though.

Just a FYI, the pro-line wheels and tires will not work on the Slayer. They are 2.2 inside and out, and will not clear the steering knuckles.

I think I'm just going to wait and see, and see how they both handle and the verdicts out there and where I race to see what they are running if they are. I know where I raced at this summer they said no class for them. Right now I would rather get one of these than a truggie. Plus spending to much on the little guys right now.

You could run the 17mm hub set and then run the wheels/tires from the SC8. They are like the slash/slayer and that it has a 3" inner diameter with a 2.2" outer.

I dont like the price either, but your basically buying an RC8T with buggy arms etc... Thats why its so pricey. Personally, if I had the cash I would buy one, sell the Nitro gear / electronics and use that $ towards converting it to BL
