I am actually fairly disappointed that the e-slayer is mini..
the other trucks are cool.. I like the features of the Summit.. but the body is not very realistic.. reminds me of the New Brights from Wal*Mart..
someone also mentioned on another board that they are releasing a DSM radio.. still in the uber-lame TQ plastic tho..

Im totally disappointed that the e-slayer is mini. If they make a e-slayer in the same scale as the slash. The slash would disappear from the radar. That might be why it went mini.
I can see "right size" e-slayer's in an open class making Open 4WD Buggy boring. Well not boring, But I bet alot of people would jump ship to e-slayer. I know I would.

It'd be my guess that you weren't the portion of the market this product was aimed at, but instead the 1/18th crowd from which Traxxas has never had a product to offer.

I'm not so sure about the Summit it looks cool but there is somthing just about the revo shock setups I really never liked. I guess I just like the more traditonal and scale looking shock setups. Just my hang up on this looks like a nice all arounder.
I know I want the mini CORR truck, probably another mid season class like teh Slash was when it came out.
I just started thinking about this but why 1/16th and not 1/18th like the rest of them, even though you will probably be able to take the body and put it on a 1/18th and will probably be about the right size, like the Slash. Or is it they just don't want/can compete with the 1/18ths out there since Traxxas isn't known as a racing vehicle at least until the Slash. This is not a cut dowm on Traxxas as that is mostly what I have/had until recently. And actually seeing why know the other ones are sort of better at least some of the setups like ball joints and cups ends on the turnbuckles instead of screws on the turnbuckles especially when racing when you pop one, with the Traxxas and screws can't be done on track but with others just pop it back on if you can and back off you go. Noticed this more recently with breaking things on the front end of my Nitro Rustler.

They are both great on the track, and the Revo is known worldwide as one of the best race MT's on the market.

I have a Vendetta ST to bash inside the house, Maybe Im just bummed they came out with the mini e-slayer so late? I dunno. I may end up with one some day. Im just one of many who are sitting behind their monitor's drooling at the possibility of a 4WD Slash. Are'nt you? Im not bashing traxxas, Im glad that Traxxas is expanding its foot print in the hobby.

I was drooling, until I saw it was going to be a nitro and interest quickly waned -- -- kinda like going to a nudie bar only to find out the strippers didn't totally undress ... or something like that...lol

Maybe you're not up on the mini scene, but other than the fact that literally all the RC on the market aren't true to their listed scale -- but a fair share of the mini's that have come out in recent years aren't 1/18th scale either. The 1/18ths are so small they tend to be problematic stuffing the electronics onto the diminutive platform while the slightly larger 1/16th scale has plenty enough room -- and don't have the wildly quirky handling characteristics either.

I don't think they are that big in this area And where I do run there wasn't any that were running. I had though about running my Savage but figured it was useless against the truggies there. Plus I just started racing in August was just a basher off and on the past few years didn't do anything the just sat was working on the show/race car and all RC stuff just sat on the shelves.

Nope not up on the minis, I had boughta mini t years ago, when I thought about racing indoors in the winter but it never worked out where the tracks where to race or there hours. SO it just sat unused and sold it this spring. Now with Rob's track getting back in, for the winter stuff, had another ooption but going to Rob's. Most scales are off in size. And are there really any that are true scale? Besides maybe a few crawlers. My point wasn't why the size in general, but more of a why wouldn't they build them the same size and compete in the same size category instead of creating a new one. Figure it would either compete in the 2wd or 4wd market with the 1.18th scale series vehicles. But I guess it is very smart building a different size for marketing and competition since there really wouldn't be any. Again not a bash just thoughts of why.

Actually there are more "current" 1/16ths than 1/18ths As far as mini off-road choices --The entire Vendetta line-up is advertised as 1/16th scale. The Kyosho mini Inferno is advertised as 1/16th scale. The Losi Mini-LST though advertised as 1/18th, is actually 1/16th. The Trinity Blade is 1/16th. The Trinity Next is 1/16th. seems like I've forgotten one or twoThe only 1/18ths are: Losi Mini-T AE RC18T/B X-Ray M18T ;D
