so i was board at 3 am couldn't sleep and decided to make skis just for fun (i live in TX...it NEVER snows).So i figured id share a little how to, i just used a old soda can(for lager scale u will want to use better grade stuff), super glue and some styrene for spacers on the axle so the nut screws in all the way and the ski stays in place. Here is a quick pic i made in paint just get it to the size u want and then print it and cut it out trace it onto whatever u want to use
and pics mounted (yes i no its a 4wd mini i just was board k)
if u want better steering cut another piece and bend it to 90* the cut a slit in the bottom ski and assemble it so looks like this. the _ =facing u the * =facing away from u and the f=the flap hanging down into the snow

and made some for my x-mod truck that sould fit the micro's there prety good and easyer to make heres the template
bend the small part and bend it to match the tip of the ski and glue it on also this ones a 1 ski so it looks like this
