I'll be getting a new body in the mail here soon and it will be the very first one I've ever painted. What type of paint do I need and what brands do you painters and artists use? I just want a simple two tone piant job, nothing crazy. Thanks!

If I was you I would go with rattlecans for your first try.Any of the brands will work, just make sure it is made to work on lexan, ordinarly model paint isn't flexible and will crack and peel on a lexan body.

I just want a simple two tone piant job, nothing crazy. Thanks! most of the real "artists" use airbrushes, but for a basic two tone paint job spray cans should do the job just fine. the problem is that most model car paint as well as most rattlecan paint you can buy in ordinary stores uses enamel paint which won't adhere to lexan and will flake and chip off in no time. what you are looking for is lexan specific paint (because it has a chemical in it that helps the paint bond to the lexan), tamiya makes some as well as pactra, but they can only be obtained in hobby shops. but you can check a bigbox store (not sure about Korea) and look in the spraycan section as I know people have used kryon branded paint marked specifically for plastic (like lawnchairs and stuff) and that it works okay. hope that helps answer your question

I would recomend pactra. Its made for rc bodys so you know it will hold good. I used tamiya for plastics on a revo body once and it all chipped off. Most hobby shops carry pactra so you shouldent have a hard time finding it.

Pactra is definately good stuff, it's what I use, but it might be a little hard for chiefmasterbeast to get his hands on in RoK.

Most lacquer based paints will work on lexan. I do a lot of R/C bodies & Atv's. I use mostly automotive lacquers,Some water based airbrush paints work well to. I have some bodies I painted that have lasted years with no chipping or flaking.
