This site has such great potential, but it seems as of late, that there has been more fighting and bickering instead of usefull content to help people.
Whats your guys thought on this matter.

This site has such great potential, but it seems as of late, that there has been more fighting and bickering instead of usefull content to help people. Whats your guys thought on this matter. MY thought?~ First a obligated (to one particular format of vehicles) site starts off and everyone's lovie dovie ... primarily because the whole gig is new and nobody has a clue what they're doing and they're just happy to have a place to hang out. ~ Then a variety of personalities start joining, and just like any club or organization or groupings of people, not all of them see eye to eye. ~ Pretty soon instead of just the same old song and dance picture threads people start asking questions - some more technical than others. ~ And, since some folks figure "I've had mine as long as the next guy and he couldn't possibly know any more than I so he must be a moron" they want to argue, fight, bicker, and point fingers at others just because they think they're right or it's within their rights (btw, I have more than once admitted an error on my part here - something I haven't seen anyone else do ... oops my mistake, other than the site owner). ~ Then when you factor in that literally no one thinks there is a possibility that someone here might actually have some technical expertise that goes beyond the realm of backyard bashing or local club racing you have a problem --- because they'll never get it, even if you put it out there in a technical release from the factory. ~ And then you have a whole generation of people that have grown up in the "I'm OK, you're OK, don't say anything that might disrupt my personal space or unduly insult or affect my feelings, are obsessed with their self-esteem, and/or get butt-hurt very easily, and got trophies in little league despite finishing the season in the cellar" that somehow want to be told that everything's fine all the time and can't tolerate even the lightest level of chiding .... well, I don't know... ~ Nobody seemingly has the ability to just ignore something they don't like and just have to comment, one way or another, instead of just moving on to the next thread. ~ Then you have the chosen few that just join sites solely for the entertainment factor of seeing what they can stir up. They start pointless threads, or ones they KNOW will elicit heated discussions and sit back and watch the fur fly, or just chime in from time to time adding nothing to the discussion at hand other than calling someone out or pointing a finger --- yet add nothing of consequence anywhere on the board. Just bull$hit. ~ Then there are those that have the misbegotten opinion that saying whatever it is they want falls under the parameters of "Free Speech" protected under the Constitution (which it does not). ~ And since none of us are sitting around discussing things over soft drinks or beers, and since people act a lot differently online vs. in real life, things get out of hand. ~ Pretty soon you have people slamming, bamming, slashing and burning, making rude references to others, posting slanderous statements about others, and taking part in behaviors they'd never get away with at home or the office.... ~ And soon moderators and admins spend most of their time dumping out the kettles of crap others have stirred up --- because "people just don't get along" and/or "some folks never learned how to place nice with others". I think that about covers it, but I'm sure others will chime in.

I joined when the site was in its infancy, when it was still SlashRacer. and i have certainly like seeing it prgress into the site it is now. If a thread starts going downhill, i typically ignore it and not come back for a while. i like reading about the technical stuff, cuz i really dont have any knowhow on a lot of RC aspects. (I'm on of those backyard bashers) but i'm into the hobby and enjoy it. i dont like coming here and seeing all these negative posts. if you want to be mean to eachother , do it through personal messages. the thread certainly isnt the place to do it

I thought sharing info and ideas what what it was all about. I have been disappointed to see that some people are too sensitive to general and direct comments and feel the need to lash out. Right or wrong arguing solves little or nothing, it just wrecks the site's reputation and eventually ruins it for everyone. Can't everyone just sit back and take a breath? This hobby is supposed to be fun isn't it?

The dark red letters to the dark grey background is hard on the old man eyes. everything else is fine.
