I live on the outskirts of Modesto California and the closest off road track in Madera is not making a Slash class since they are a nitro track.
The closest track I have heard of so far with a slash class is in Marin, a long, long, long way from me.

The track in Des moines has a class and I am going tonight to race my Slash. It will be my first time racing it, I have run it in the backyard. I painted up a body so it will be easy to spot unless someone else shows up with a all white one. I have watched vids and looks like alot of fun. Hopefully I do well. I was going to put in my MX-3 2.4 radio but wont have time to get it all set up, I do have extra crystals though. Wish me luck!

I was wrong. I just looked on the CVR website for the track in Madera, and they are talking about adding a Slash Spec class. They would have to modify the track a little, but they think thye will do it.

Well there was 9 of us but 7 were Slashes, they let in a rustler and a stampede due to the shortage of novice racers. I did get my 2.4 ghz. radio installed before the race. But in the 2nd heat the battery came loose, like What the........ the body clip came loose somehow oh thats right I didnt have it in all the way, lol. And in the main my house transdponder decided to leave due to a lost clip. Oh well better to have bad luck than no luck at all. But most important I had FUN!!!!!

Here in SW Florida it all started with myself, my buddy and his 8yr kid. That was the first race and the 8yr old won! It was so even and sooooo much fun. 4 races later there are 10-12 slashes. We run stock out of box or a 19t, no lipos and stock tires. We even inverse the main just like the corr! That makes TQ a death blow!

IMHO the Slash is the only typical electric I'd dare venture onto an 1/8th track with - and I've done it quite a few times - because they are big enough to take a beating, as they are way stouter than most spindly 1/10th scale cars and buggies. go for it dude

I raced up north in Iowa a couple weeks ago on a track designed for 1/8th scale truggies and buggies, there was three of us. It was alot of fun, especially trying to make the huge doubles and triples. And best of all mine didnt break, I did notice a shock cap getting loose but nothing broke, I seen a truck lose a shock cap. But if I race my Slash on that track again I defintely will try going brushless/Lipo. Oh yea the other 2 were running Lipo and I was running 6cell NiMH. I was in third through the heats but it started downpouring right before our A-main.

Now CVR isn't talking about the Slash class now that the Slayer is out and the SC8 should be out soon.
