I am pretty sure the stock xl-5 is not rated for 3s lipo, but i had to anyways,  11.1 volts really wake up this truck and the lesser weight also helps, i am really amazed on how much easier it's to control than with the nihm packs weight, i can't wait for my new lipo's to come in, i was using one of my crawlers lipo btw to test, after only 5 minutes of use the esc was little hot ;D, i will have to put my bl setup on as soon as my packs come in. |

No the LHS swapped out the esc for me so I could finish running today. Ran it for about 10 minutes before poof...

Mine? No idea, the plastic was bubbling though haha. Other times I ran it though it didn't feel that bad. I geared it down with a 90 tooth spur, other then that its all stock.

They say you can't run lipo because there is no low voltage cutoff with that esc. Mine would have smoked even with a 6-7 cell Ni-Mh. |

Yeah, 2s lipo should be no problem, all yuou need is to run an external low voltage cutof, i ran my slash again on 3s for a copule more minutes and love it, but i know the esc is not going to last long on that much juice, so i just run for 5 min intervals, but even that is causing long term damage i think, so tomorrow i am getting of my lazy behind and putting the bl setup i have for it. |
