I did some "horse trading" for a used Slash a while back and I just got around to putting it back together after tearing it down. The motor is baked. I have a brand new sidewinder ESC and I want to go brushless. I think this beast was ran without the body alot. There are only minor scratches on it but the chassis is pretty scratched up. Needless to say...I had to mount up some CAC RG-1 B/L's on it. (blems of course). Well....here are some pics. Let me know what you think. ;D Very cool to get a "used" slash! The big question is...are you going to sell "blems" as well?

I try not to. In this case....it took a few tries to get the wheel design where I wanted it. Hence.....setups and blems. If you look close you can see the different rings. If you look closer the rings on one side look the same but one has a step. I'm a freakin' scavenger. haha ;D

I scored a velenion system last night. I called the local hobby shop looking for a brushless motor and this is what they had. I didn't want a super fast motor and the velenion seems like it might do the trick. Can I use my Sidewinder ESC instead of the VXL ESC? My goal is to tame it down a bit. I just want enough power to keep from bogging down when I'm drifting sideways. Brushless stuff is all new territory for me so if anyone is using a system like this let me know what you set your Sidewinder at for timing and stuff.

Yeah the sidewinder esc will run the Traxxas brushless motor no problem.

Holy Moley!!!!!! The new Velineon motor is a beast. This is my first brushless motor and I'm hooked. I didn't bother changing out the VXL ESC yet. I wanted to just install it and go. Does anyone know which wires go where when I hook up the Velineon motor to the Sidewinder ESC? The color codes don't match. I have red, black, and white on the Sidewinder and yellow, white, and blue on the VXL.

Nice pics! They are pretty tough, mine has taken some heavy hits so far and the only thing I need to replace so far is the spur gear.
