Just found out the track is closing for summer of 2009 The HS will remain open, but I guess the turnouts are just not as good as they used to be. Looks like Im gonna have to make the most of it this summer.

Looks like Im gonna have to make the most of it this summer. You know what sucks, is that Hobby Shops just seem to not get it. OFFER FREE RACING! It will get more people to show up, and spend money in YOUR HOBBY SHOP! Isn't that what they want? The track will never make the shop money, the draw to the shop from the track is what makes the money. If they treat it like an advertising tool, and not an income, then they will net more from it.

True, but it also takes alot of money to keep the track going too. Paying for the clay, the water to water the track, gas for the bobcats, rollers, and time is money too. Takes alott effort to keep it going. I do see your point though.

There is also the insurance costs to cover a track. At least out here in CA it is insane and keeps 99% of the HS's from ever opening one
