my slash has been glitching big time and i can't seem to find the problem. the glitching is random (comes and goes) and crazily annoying. i've tried a new receiver=same, new crystals=same, different batteries=same=still glitching. i'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem. it seems to glitch more in reverse than forward and sometimes it will even switch straight into reverse rather than braking. everything is stock.
thanks to anyone who can help

Sounds like the transmitter is the only thing you didn't try. Is it both steering and throttle that glitches, or only one of those? That would help narrow it down.

Check your servos. It sounds like you have a servo creating cross talk. Unplug your steering servo and see if you still get the glitching. If you dont, its most likely your steering servo. Good luck.

ya it only glitches when the servo is plugged in. could the glitching be caused by water damage, it isn't the stock servo so not waterproof. the glitching happens when you try to turn - the truck then glitches backwards. is there any way to repair the servo without having to replace it? thanks

Not without sending it to the manufacture. Sounds like water got on the circuit board and its corroded now.

Depending on the servo, you can buy new gears, but it sounds like it is in the motor of the servo so unfortunately a new servo would have to be used. You may have stressed the servo beyond what it can handle. When you get a new servo, make sure your using a servo saver on it and that you set your endpoints to avoid stressing the servo which will burn it up. Sorry man, and good luck.

thanks for you help sam hill but i don't think that the motor in the servo is burned out because it still works perfect (torque, speed, etc.) it just makes the car glitch when plugged in. is there any way to test the radio to see if that is the problem? (besides using a different transmitter). and would the new traxxas servo come with the "servo horn" i think it's called, or would i have to but that separately?
thanks

The motor can still be bad, in the sense that it is creating electronic noise, which will cause the glitching. This is usually caused by over stressing the servo.
I would pull the servo out that is causing the issue and if another servo stops the glitching then that is your issue.

alright. sorry about that. i'm new to rc, but that makes sense now. could this still be the problem if the glitching happens at random times (somedays it works, others it doesn't). it has been the most confusing thing and it is bugging the hel out of me. for 2 weeks it was glitching but then just yesterday it started working again. i don't know...
thanks sam, and btw, is your real name sam hill, or do you like the downhill mountain biker?

My name is actually Peter Rose, like the old Baseball player. Honest. I never knew there was a downhill mountian biker with this name. I just use if for the hell of it. The other thing you can try is getting a Voltage Capacitor. www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/products_id/6570This may help your problem if it is speratic. It could be your batteries arent supplying enough power to keep your servo happy so it starts to glitch.
