What would you use to build the ultimate Slash for racing?

if it were a modified class, i would use all the rpm parts i could get a hold of. mamba max 4600, good brand 3s lipo. proline switch tires and rims. integy piggy back aluminum shocks. a good 2.4ghz controller. a little diff locking grease. if allowed i would add some weight up front to help those sharp turns and make it jump more level. this would really be a good bashing set up as well, with some changes to your shocks.

The only changes I would want are a stiffer chassis and stiffer front and rear shock towers. I know they already make aluminum shock towers but I can't run them in a spec class, just wish stiffer ones came with the truck. My only other wish is that the truck were lighter, other than that, I like it the way it is.

For something like an open mod class...a 3S lipo with a MM4600 bl system, swaybars, proline switch tires and rims, and maybe some upgraded shocks.

I've seen 2 different people say they want a mamba 4600 with a 3s. I run the mamba 4600 in my T4 and it is by no means slow. So my question is why do you want to run a smaller motor on 3s instead of a bigger motor on 2s? Because the 3s just ups the voltage not the runtime or am I incorrect? I am not trying to say you are wrong I am just curious.
p.s. I want aluminum shock caps, I forgot about that.

Excellent site here guys, Lots of great stuff.
Woohoo..my first post. I would like to see a GorillaMaxx chassis for it. Carbon or aluminium...yummy either way.
If only I could put the SC8 body on it

i actually do run the 5700 with a 2s personally i really dont know exactly what it is about the smaller motor with the 3s i like more but it just seems a little more controllable, but again that will depend on the track and length of the race

I would use for the plastic for the body, metal shocks, rubber for the tires and hard plastic for the bottom.

I never ran mine with a 3s because I have 6 2s lipos so a 3s isn't in my near future but I would like to see one run.

If you run the 5700 with 3S, you would have too much rpms and it would be harder to control. It would also be bad for the motor as it will heat up faster. Normally, when you go up in voltage, you'd want to go down in motor kv rating.
When you run a lower kv motor with higher voltage, you get more torque. You will also get less heat from the esc and the motor. The Slash is a heavy lady in comparison to a stadium truck, so the extra torque would be beneficial.
This is what I would do for an Open Mod class: -Xtreme 17mm adapters with 1/8 buggy wheels and tires. -3S with a motor rated 3500kv or something in that range. -Weights in the front and rear of the car but concentrated on the lower part of the chassis. -Traxxas aluminum Big Bores or some Losi shocks that fit. -Diff seal mod -Stiffer shock towers *As an option, remove weight in specific areas to lower CG.

MM4600 on 2s, 1/8 buggy wheels with crime fighters, TRX Big Bores, RPM everything I can get. Weight added here and there and weight loss here and there. That would be and is going to be mine.
