I'm a slash Racer from a little town called Colon, Nebraska..
(and yes, it really is the a$$hole of nowhere...)
I'm 28 years old, married with two little girls, ages 2 1/2 years and 9 months old, so I don;t get as much time to mess with my stuff as I'd like to.
I currently work as an auto technician, but I've also been a body man and painter, parts counter guy, insurance agent (that sucked) and, for a short time during my Junior year of High school, I made the mistake of getting a job at Burger King.
I also play guitar (mostly metal) but I also am into 1:1 stuff as well. I own a Big Bad Blue '69 AMC Javelin SST and a '62 Chevy 1/2T longbox, dropped, primered black with red steel wheels and baby moons. As soon as I can find someone who can cut a wrap-around windshield I'm going to whack 3" out of the roof and put in suicide doors.
My slash is my first real R/C race-truck I've owned (unless you count a blackfoot back in the days before the R/C stadium truck even existed) but I've owned several R/C's.
A Blackfoot, a TRC Pro 10, and HPI RS4 Pro 2, (best handling most durable TC EVER!) aand a Parma Hemi Corvette (wish I never sold that... woulda been a killer brushless Drag car)
I am really heavy into R/C crawlingnow, here's my Main Crawler rig:
Yes, that is a 4WD, four-linked and Coil-overed '75 AMC Gremlin.
Your eyes do not decieve you.
It's completely custom built. It has working head-tail-and roof lights, (all ultra-bright LED's... you don't look directly at it at night)
and a working hidden servo winch that is controlled off the TQ3's modified third channel. It weighs over NINE POUNDS and you don't want to know how much it cost to build it. ;D
I'm also working on a custom tube-frame competition crawler, but the only pic I have is of the half-finished chassis, as it's over at a friend's house, having the four-link and shock mounts done up by someone who knows a greater deal about that stuff than I.
I have a Losi Mini-t as well, that's my sand-n'-Gravel Rocket! Check out the custom wing mount...
And now I have a slash.
It's great that I found this forum and can keep up on what's going on with these trucks. These things are a blast, and I hope we can all have some great discussions on this forum.
