New Slash with Mamba seems slow (New Motor Here)

I found what I believe to be a good deal on the bay for a new motor. Its a new Mamba Max 4600kv motor that I got for $76 shipped. The same motor from tower would have cost $90. I would have gotten it cheaper but I got into a little bit of a bidding war during the last minute.

I have some X-mod stuff that I sold and am awaiting payment on and if I sell my 7700kv motor for a decent price that should cover the new motor.

Would the 5700kv have been that much better or am I going to do ok with the 4600? I figured it would draw less and do better with the Nimh batteries I plan on sticking with. I could afford a $76 motor with the stuff I have sold and plan to sell than I could a $100 charging set up and $75 dollar battery.

Until the new motor comes in I have the stock stuff installed with the 15 tooth pinion. Its pretty fun with that set up.

I would also like to say that this is an awesome site. Everyone has been really helpful and not bashed on me for having a slow Slash. Everyone has been positive and tried to help me sort things out. I will definetly refer any new Slash owners I meet here for info. Thanks again!

I walked to the office here at school on my planning period and guess what was in my mailbox. That's right a brand new Mamba Max 4600kv motor. As soon as I get home its going in while the batteries charge. I'll let you know how it goes.

I got the new motor installed with the stock spur and stock 18 took pinion. Acceleration is good and top speed is pretty decent. I think with the batteries I am running this is about the best set up I can get. I tried to get some video but it got dark on me.

I am having a little trouble with glitching. At about 20 yards away when you give it full throttle it turns the wheels to the right. I keep the antenna bent over under the body because I think it looks better. I may just have to run it sticking up. I'll get that figured out another afternoon and hopefully get some video.

have you tried messing around w/ the settings and throttle curves via the castle link programer?

Haven't messed with it too much but I do have the start up power set to high so I may have to bump that down.
