So the million dollar question.... would you pay to be a member? (Of course, there will always be the free option, I would never force everyone to pay to be a member)
Why would you pay do you ask? Well here's what we are thinking...
Vendors section will be free to all vendors. The catch is they have to do 1 giveaway of any of their products to a Slash Racer paid member each month (pretty much a trade for their vendor spot). They get to show off their new stuff, and you get to reap the rewards ;D
Also, the Slash Racer online store will feature all sorts of Slash/Slayer upgrades from all sorts of vendors under one roof. As a paid member, you will receive free shipping on all orders, no matter how small they are. You will also get special discounts and early buy options when new products come out.
I am sure there will also be more benefits that will roll out for paid members.
Cost? -$3 a month, or $30 for the year to be a paid member. (Pay for a year, get 2 fee months)
The money raised from the membership will go to paying for site hosting, forum ad-free services, and to help the site grow.

Ok well noted. Could offer a $20 a year package that doesn't include the free shipping perk.

I think a membership or supporter style level thing would be good enough. allthough I'm not sure what type of benefits can be offered by this fourm.

I would pay $20.00, the free shipping is not a big deal to me

A membership idea is cool, and is a great way to help pay some bills. Like everyone has said though, the site needs to get up and going more before something like that could happen. I love the idea though, and input from the members is always a cool thing Maybe a forum just for the members could be added that would give them sneak peaks at upcoming site additions / updates, new products, and things like that. Just an idea... I also think the $20 dollar fee would be reasonable.

Yeah I am thinking down the road. Sounds like $20 doesn't hurt everyone so bad. And like I posted above, I would make sure you got something for that $20 before offering it.
